Follow the adventure – From Aalborg to Africa
While many settle for a week’s charter vacation, we packed our Tesla and left everyday life for a six-month adventure. On September 18, we drove out of Aalborg – towards Italy, Spain, and on to Morocco in Africa. Along the way, we have crossed mountain passes, coastlines, and desert areas, and now we are deep in Western Sahara in Africa.
Over the next few months, the goal remains the same: to experience as much of the world as possible, while the car is our home, and while we seek out places that are rarely visited in an ordinary passenger car – and even more rarely in an electric car.
Next Adventure
We have just launched Next Adventure, where we develop camper kits and roof tents that make it possible to travel on adventures – and both sleep and cook in an ordinary car.
Our camper kit makes it possible for two people to sleep comfortably inside the car. It has an integrated kitchen that can be pulled out of the trunk, complete with a refrigerator and gas stove. Together with the roof tent on the roof, it provides a total of four beds – and in a few minutes, the car can be transformed into a small camper.
Last winter in the Canary Islands, we experienced how many travelers showed interest in the camper kit we had built ourselves. That response gave us the courage to further develop the idea, so that others can also go on adventures in their own car.
“We want to show that you don’t need hotel rooms or motorhomes to travel. With the right equipment, you can sleep well, cook in nature and have everything you need with you – even when you are in a desert or on top of a mountain.”
We jumped out of the rat race
We love adventure – and in the summer of 2024, we made a conscious decision: we gave up our apartment to avoid the high fixed expenses. Instead, we bought a sailboat, which we live on when we are not traveling in the car. That choice has given us the freedom to explore the world and set new boundaries.
From the Arctic Circle to the Sahara
Since 2024, we have lived a life full of adventure. Last winter, we lived in the car for three months in the Canary Islands, and this summer we went to the Arctic Circle in Northern Norway. Now we are on our longest journey yet: an electric trip through the Sahara Desert in Africa.
Our southernmost point so far is south of the Tropic of Cancer, far out in the Sahara, where the tracks disappear and the distances between villages become large. Here we have driven offroad through endless amounts of Sahara sand – and experienced a desert that is both harsh and beautiful at the same time.
